She loves to pose for the camera, so here are some of the cuter poses . . .
I was going for a ready-to-do-a-cartwheel pose here, but she couldn't get the I'm-a-monster-with claws thought out of her head! Maybe this will improve with lessons . . .The 'rules' (mommy's rules) to gymnastics are: 1) She has to wear a leotard (I'm sure there's a better word than that . . . ) & 2) her hair has to be either in a braided poinytail, or a frenchbraid- today she chose a pony with braid. (Hair out of eyes is actually one of their rules, and leotard or comfortable, moveable clothes is another of their rules.)
She is SUPER-EXCITED to go! Hopefully she stays that way once we get there because Robert is working tonight so I get to go with the other 3 in tow, and she can't cling to my leg for help because I won't be able to give it to her. . . Ms. Mary is her teacher, and if I remember right, she was Isaiah's teacher about 3 years ago . . . In fact, I believe she was MY teacher when I went there, well, let's not say how many years ago! Anyways, cross your fingers that she stays excited and demonstrates a little independence! ;)
So, did it go well?
ReplyDeleteYes. She did really well. She listened and followed directions. The first "trick" they were asked to do was a HANDstand, not even a headstand, and she tried it. Then Ms. Mary said, "Shall we do another one?" Elizabeth answered her "No." But she did, with help.
ReplyDeleteThen they went to the Dalmation room and went all through the obstacle course, which she enjoyed, but was tentative about jumping into the foam pit . . . then they were going to "The tramp" to jump before dismissing. This was 40 minutes into in and Liz was done. She started crying. Ms. Mary is so wonderful! She picked her up, comforted her, held her hand all the while she watched the other kids jump down the tramp and into the pit. Then Mary asked her when she was ready, and held her hand and helped her walk, til she was ready to jump. Scared at the pit again, Ms Mary helped her do a slow motion jump just to get her used to it. Then she said it was time for stamps. Lizziebear said "After time for stamps, is it time for our mommies?" Ms. Mary laughed and smiled and said "Yes, after time for stamps, it's time for our mommies." and looked up to see if I heard her.
I'm soooo lucky that Ms. Mary had an opening that worked for us, I forgot how wonderful she was!/is! She has a helper too, Ms. Miranda.
I didn't even attempt pictures on the first night, not knowing how it would go. Maybe next Tuesday we'll be able to do that . . .
How fun!! She looks so cute in her leotard, and I kinda like the scary monster with claws look!
